Nantucket, Massachusetts is an island 30 miles from the shore of Cape Cod. The National Park Service designated the island a National Historic Landmark District in 1966, as the “finest surviving architectural and environmental example of a late 18th/early 19th-century New England seaport town”.
This wonderful travel poster was originally created by John Held Jr., one of the best-known magazine illustrators of the 1920’s. Held created cheerful art showing people engaged in fun-filled activities. In this vintage poster of Nantucket Held showcased the towns beauty and whaling history.
