This map shows a bird’s eye view of Lake Village, New Hampshire in 1883. The area is now known as Lakeport, a section of Laconia. The map was created by Albert Poole, a gifted illustrator from Brockton, Massachusetts.
Old Lake Village landmarks on the map include Moore’s Opera House, Excelsior Hosiery Company, The Wardwell Needle Company, Cole Manufacturing Company, and Lake Village Savings Bank. Opechee Bay and Paugus Bay were then known as Round Bay and Long Bay, respectively.
