The demands of the spiritual life are simple, but implicit. To be true to your high calling, you must have a heart of humility and gratitude, a spirit of obedience and submission to divine authority, an honest principle of mind which causes you to look to God for guidance and approval, and a sincere desire to live a holy and devout life.
Anything less than this high standard of thought and conduct will keep you from your rightful place in the divine arrangement. Stand, therefore, with your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, taking the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. Then will it be said of you: Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
